You’ve heard the saying, “Shoulda, woulda, coulda.” Don’t we all carry regret about something in our life? I know I have. My bucket list is full of items I would like to do before I get to an age where jumping off a cliff, or out of an airplane, becomes more wishful thinking then a probable reality.
Two of the items on my bucket list are to be part of a flash mob and another is to be in the Guinness Book of World Records. I’ll be crossing both of those off my list on April 21st this year at the World’s Largest simultaneous flash mob dance.
Flash mobs are a recent trend where groups of people gather in public places and begin performing a unusual act for a few minutes to the bewilderment of onlookers. Many times the flash mob performs a choreographed dance. If you are an Oprah fan, you will remember when the Black Eyed Peas surprised her with a flash mob dance while she was in Australia. It was truly brilliant and something I wish I could have been a part of.

While you may be put off by having to learn a dance routine, remember that not all dancing requires you to be completely technical and gracefully built. If put to the test, I am willing to bet you would find yourself moving to the groove much easier than you thought. “Groove is in the heart” remember!
The world’s largest simultaneous flash mob dance is being put together by Visalus Sciences and is taking place on April 21, 2012.” Hundreds of cities throughout Canada and the U.S will be taking part in this event simultaneously at noon. Even if you do not have a meeting location near you, the event website gives you the opportunity to become the “Mob Boss” and put on the routine right in your own city!
The choreographed dance itself takes about ½ an hour to learn and is led by none other than the famous Alfonso Ribeiro , who played Carlton Banks on the Fresh Prince TV show.

If this is not normally your thing, I urge you to take a chance and challenge yourself. Step outside of your comfort zone and get out there and experience an unforgettable moment! Grab a friend, family member or even make a date of it. This is a must do bucket list item. Imagine looking back with excitement and being able to tell your children and grandchildren, “I was there!” So what are you waiting for and Take The Challenge! Get a little groove in your heart and go make history April 21, 2012 at a location near you!
Have you ever participated in a flash mob? What are some of the things on your bucket list?
